Sitemap Validation

DEPENDENCIES:

• All Fetch TG URLs imported
• Sitemap Generator completed for all templates
• Merge completed without errors

PROCESS:

1. Mark all URLs as ‘is_processed = 0’ in smm_url_validation that have not been checked in the past 6 months or more.
2. Review ‘config.inc’ for Sitemap Validation.
3. Run ‘sitemap_validator.pl’ to crawl all URLs with is_processed = 0

GENERATE SMV QA REPORT:

See “{pos} QA SMV yyyymmdd” in https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BxGkM7mSsh-4bUxUMHBWYnBieDQ. Since this is strictly internal, a Google Sheet is usually easier to generate.

REVIEW SMV QA REPORT:

1. Compare the total number of valid URLs in each template to the US site, to see that the count is in the general same area.
2. Check custom URL templates have correct numbers of URLs generated.
3. Test each URL template sample URL to make sure URLs are not being redirected or have not been incorrectly generated.
4. Review any valuable redirected URLs and import them to template 102 if they are not already in the sitemap elsewhere.

   (This is an internal, preliminary review of a specific report, separate from QA reviews we will run through with the SEO specialist in the GSI.)
